Hi!  My name is Dr. Joseph Barron, I am a licensed psychologist, and I have been working with young people and their families for a little over a decade.

​

If you are a parent, I can help you to better understand what your child is going through using the tools of therapeutic testing and psychotherapeutic counseling. I also have a passion for consultation, and can work with you and your child’s school team, primary care provider, spiritual support, and/or other mental health professionals involved in you or your child’s care.

I care deeply about the present and use skills and tools to move things forward with how we think, feel, act, tolerate, and talk to each other. I also honor the past and the interpersonal relationships in which you and your child may find yourselves. Whether your issues have to do with emotions inside, actions seen by others, painful parts of your past, or joyful aspects of your future, I am here to play my role.

I am a Diversity Studies specialist and a decolonization psychologist, meaning, I have devoted much of my training and career to supporting identities which often fall by the societal wayside: supporting folks with neurodiversity, who are growing in their ethnic/racial development and discovery, and those who identify with the LGBTQIA2S community is an essential part of my work.

When you work with me, you will have a clear sense of goals, experience a strong supportive regard, with psychological services that feel like an  extended and natural aspect of you and your life. Whether we are talking calmly, building puzzles, sharing music, holding ice cubes, or actively moving, the work will feel like we are moving as fast as is needed.
